What does Profhilo do?
Profhilo is an injectable anti-aging treatment to help boost skin hydration and improve skin elasticity. It can be used for the face, neck, chest, and decolletage. Hyaluronic acid is injected at key points on the selected treatment area to help with skin laxity, and hydration, it also helps to trigger your natural collagen.

What is the difference between Profhilo and Dermal fillers?
Our bodies naturally produce hyaluronic acid, which can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water, but we gradually lose it with age. Similarly, collagen and elastin, the protein fibres that provide structure and elasticity to the skin, break down and their production slows, resulting in tired, dehydrated, lacklustre skin with lines and wrinkles. Profhilo spreads water-binding hyaluronic acid below the surface of the skin like an “injectable moisturiser”—or “injectable glow”.
Dermal fillers contain cross-links which are used to add volume in specific areas. These cross-links prevent the filler from diffusing so the filler will remain in the treated area giving you the required volume. The hyaluronic acid in Profhilo however has no cross-links enabling it to disperse under the surface of the skin and spread.
What is the procedure and is Profhilo safe?
Profhilo treatments consist of two sessions which are four weeks apart and include 5 small injections on either side of the face. The injection sites are standardised and located far from major nerves and blood vessels so is considered a safe procedure with minimal risks.
You'll notice results such as; increased hydration and, improvement in the lines and wrinkles shortly after your first treatment. However, it’s 4-weeks after the second treatment where more visible improvements will be seen with lifting and firming of the skin. Immediately after treatments, there may be redness and slight swelling at the injection site but this will generally disperse within a few hours after the treatment.
As Profhilo helps to boost your skin's own collagen production, it is recommended that you have a maintenance treatment at least twice a year so your skin can continue to improve.
